The Amsler Grid is used to test for and monitor symptoms of your eye condition.
Instructions
Perform the test with reading glasses or contact lenses, if you wear them.
If you are viewing this page on a desktop or laptop with at least a 15" (38cm) screen, view the grid from about an arm's length away.
If you are viewing the grid with an iPhone or other portable device, view it in portrait mode approximately 18cm from your eyes.
You may also download a PDF file of the grid and print it out in full colour. Place the grid on a straight vertical surface at eye level and view it from a distance of 13" (33cm).
Focus on the central dot and assess the grid lines for distortion.
Cover one eye with your hand and focus with your uncovered eye. Repeat with the other eye.
Compare the colours with the boxes.
